What's this? An Estonian highway? No, it's Estonian lace

Lovely, lovely Estonian lace. Knitted in 2/28 nm baby pink CashMerino from Zegna Baruffa/Colourmart. Light as a feather, 32.5g. Bolockd size, before relaxation, about 40cm times 150cm. Much smaller in relaxed condition. This yarn is so soft, I love it! I have ordered in total 6 cones (150g each) so there will be no problem starting new projects as the inspiration hits me, and it usually hits me hard ;-) .

So far I have blocked the scarf with pins at about 10cm distance in between (lengthwise), making it look like there is an edging, but it's all fake :-). Though, was planning to knit an edging until I saw the beauty of this simple lace. Maybe in the future... but there are so many things that have to be finished first (UFOs...).

The office!

Not much knitting recently. Some remedial work has started in the building which soon will become my office. The construction guys did not show up this week (they had to get rid of all snow on offical buildings...). I am not a very patient person so I decided to do some of it myself. Tearing and digging. Huh! Tough job. Dirty. But the ground beneath is so dry, it just needs some cleaning after badgers, foxes, birds. 100 years... something had to get stuck up beneath the floor and I am so glad everything looks healthy. Except for the big bird... probably the foxes dinner.

The beanie is of course hand knitted by me. On the flight to Moscow this fall.

Grundkurs spetsstickning

Rosebud triangle

For an upcoming event, the lace knitting course (a kindered spirit and I hopefully will give this spring) this pattern of a rosebud triangle with matching edging was made. I have to try to knit from the pattern I have prepared myself which is quite a challenge :-). In a couple of days I'll have a soft nice scarf (neckerchief?) made from the 2/28nm 75% merino 25% cashmere yarn Stäkets Hantverk supplies. Nice halo!

Now, I hope there'll be lots of knitters attending the course.

I see I have to change yarns! It is too fragile for beginners. So, I have ordered Grignasco MerinoSilk from karmagarn.se. Also a 2/28 nm lace weight. It's strong and suuuper quality. It won't have the cashmere halo though.
